History and Buildings
The original ‘Yateley National School’ was sited in Old School Lane, moving to its present location in Cranford Park Drive in 1958. With the massive increase in numbers of children in the 1970s, the school split into separate infant and junior schools on adjacent plots.
The amalgamation saw the two parts joining together once more on the Cranford Park Drive site. This is set in four and a half acres of land, comprising a field, hard playground and woodland and garden areas. Hampshire County Council completed an extensive refurbishment programme on the exterior of the building in May 2007 and further internal remodeling and development was completed in 2011.
Each class has their own classroom with access to the outdoors, while also benefitting from the use of an ICT suite, Library, Music room, Food Technology Room and School Hall. The classrooms are spacious and very well equipped to facilitate learning.
The school has a great deal of space outside too, including a nature area. We are currently developing a pond area and an area for Forest School activities as well as further extending our Early Years outdoor space. The grounds are well kept and offer a wealth of educational opportunities as well as catering for our sporting needs.
