Our School

Cranford Park CE Primary School is a Church of England (Controlled) Primary school catering for children from four to eleven years of age.  The school serves the local community of Yateley but also accepts children from beyond. As a Controlled school Hampshire County Council, Local Authority owns the buildings and employs the staff. The Church and Local Authority appoints a number of governors to the school together with Parent and staff governors to support and challenge the Headteacher.

History and Buildings

The original ‘Yateley National School’ was sited in Old School Lane, moving to its present location in Cranford Park Drive in 1958. With the massive increase in numbers of children in the 1970s, the school split into separate infant and junior schools on adjacent plots.

The amalgamation saw the two parts joining together once more on the Cranford Park Drive site. This is set in four and a half acres of land, comprising a field, hard playground and woodland and garden areas. Hampshire County Council completed an extensive refurbishment programme on the exterior of the building in May 2007 and further internal remodeling and development was completed in 2011.

Each class has their own classroom with access to the outdoors, while also benefitting from the use of an ICT suite, Library, Music room, Food Technology Room and School Hall. The classrooms are spacious and very well equipped to facilitate learning.

The school has a great deal of space outside too, including an area for outdoor learning and Forest School activities, including a lovely pond area to support our science and nature studies.  A spacious dedicated outdoor garden for our Early Years children gives them a large space to learn outdoors every day. Two playgrounds for KS1 and KS2 offer plenty of safe space for play. The grounds are well kept and offer a wealth of educational opportunities as well as catering for our sporting needs.
